What a good birthday!

I had a very excellent birthday today! Thank you for all the calls, cards, texts, emails, and blog shout outs (Rob, Liv, Linds).... I have the best friends in the whole world! The celebration started yesterday when I went to get my hair done.... for FIVE HOURS! Yikes! Rob, Amy, & Nathan watched baby Robby - even put him to bed! - and they did a great job! It definitely is a long process but I'm happy with the result and it was so nice to get a break. Rob posted a pic below but here's a ton more pictures from my birthday today so you can get more of an idea of how it looks!

Rob and I went to lunch at Tucanos today to use our "Birthday Club Free Meal" which was great! Thanks Amanda & Will for watching baby Robby! Then Taba, Anna & Gwen came to hang out for the afternoon - check out the darling tote bag Tab made me for my birthday!

Since eating out is my most favorite thing we got to do it twice! We got some dinner at Costa Vida with Linds & Liv & fam. Sydney was so cute, she kept coming up and talking to Robby, keeping him company...

Then we had some people over for cake and a little game of Catch Phrase! It was great - we had so many little kids in the house - Robby, Syd, Robert, Jack, & Kai (sorry I probably spelled that wrong)! Cindy & Jared's sweet little boy Jack made friends with Rob pretty fast - he sat on his lap for about 20 minutes! So cute!

Liv made a dee-LISH chocolate cake! She knows I'm kind of picky when it comes to cake - I don't really like icing... but I sure do LOVE chocolate! And this cake was awesome! Baby Robby was a fan too! (that's me licking the chocolate off his hands after him grabbing at it from my plate) Cindy also brought over a pie which luckily we didn't end up serving till the end so I get to eat most of it myself! :)

Thanks for all the great gifts! I think I was pretty spoiled...

It was such a great day! Thanks for helping me feel so special! Did you get enough pictures of my new hairdo? Pretty sure you did.... :)

(p.s. i hate how my head always looks bigger than rob's in pictures like this so he put his face all close to the camera to make me feel better.... kind of funny....)

Happy Birthday Honey!!

It's Esther's 25th Birthday today. For her birthday she got her hair done. I'm sure she'll want to post about it so I'll just post one picture and I'll let her tell you about it. I love you and hope you have a great day. Happy Birthday.

Bath time baby!

I just can't get enough of how cute bath time is! Ahhh! It's so much more fun now that he can crawl because he's going crazy flipping around onto his tummy, scooching his bum back and forth all around the tub.... He is hilarious! Then he figured out he could DRINK the water.... yikes... it's hard to actually BATHE him now though because he's too busy playing!

Bowling

Last week we went bowling at the Wilk at BYU with Rob's brothers and his friend, Will. This was our first time taking Quattro bowling! He and I made of up the cheer squad most of the time but we bowled a little bit.

Here's a clip of the "assisted bowl":

President Hinckley has passed away

We were sad to hear that the prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, President Gordon B. Hinckley has passed away tonight. He was 97 years old and was the oldest prophet to preside in church history. He was the Prophet of the church since March 1995. He passed away from causes related to age. While we are sad to have him leave us, we're glad that he can be re-united with his wife Marjorie Pay Hinckley. President Monson will be the next President and Prophet of the church.

Time for a change...

Ok so let's examine a few of the hairstyles I've had in the last 3 years....

K, mostly long, mostly brown.... twice I've chopped it real short which is always fun for a little while and then I wish it were long again.... sometimes my hair looks good curly, sometimes it doesn't... in high school my hair often had tons of blonde highlights - Rob liked it like that so we might try that again sometime. For the past couple years I just keep putting a dark brown color all over - it's really close to my natural color but just makes it a little more shiny and brilliant. But I think it's time for a change... I need a new "do."

I've been looking online trying to see if anything popped out at me. Here are a bunch of hairdos I saved in a folder to think about.

What do you think? I want something layer-y.... I liked when my hair had lots of layers in the back but sometimes it felt like there was no length so I still want it it feel as long as possible. Some of these are shorter dos but I like the layers. I like how the lowlights in Cameron Diaz's hair are thicker. I think I'd want chunky highlights - a few different colors.... Um, and everyone has bangs. What do you feel about bangs? Rob is not a fan.

Alright team, I could use your suggestions! My plan is to get my hair done this week - it's my birthday present! Yup, turning the big 2-5 this week! :) I'll keep you posted....

ACTUALLY CRAWLING!

Ok so now he is really crawling! It started Monday morning. He was in the living room with Rob and I was in the kitchen. Next thing I knew he came crawling into the kitchen to me! And then the trash can caught his eye.... ah ha! Gotta put that under the sink.... awesome.... So that was exciting - that was the first time he actually WENT somewhere! And since then he's been moving around to wherever he wants but thankfully he hasn't been going all over the place or moving too fast yet! These pictures are of the very FIRST time he pulled himself all the way up on the coffee table - happened yesterday! He's been getting close but mostly just sitting on his knees... so he pulled himself up and then fell down a minute later! Whoops!

Cracker Barrel

We had a great brunch at Cracker Barrel last week - it was me, Andrew, and Taba's family. Rob was skiing with his brothers and I was getting Andrew up to the airport and Cracker Barrel was a great meet up spot for us all to get together before he left. It was so yummy!! I love Robby's little mohawk in this picture... so funny!

Tabitha's family actually had an important reason to go to Cracker Barrel on January 19th - this was the anniversary of their cancer friend Catie's passing away and this was her favorite restaurant! All of their close friends had decided they would go to a Cracker Barrel wherever they were and then email pictures to Catie's mom to show they were thinking of her and celebrating Catie. Very sweet. We are so very happy and grateful that sweet little Gwen has stayed cancer free these last 2 years!

Poll Results

The poll is closed. I think I might try to do a new poll every week. They're kind of fun. The results of the last poll (Which TV show is better?) were 8 votes for the Office, 5 votes for Lost, 4 votes for Heroes, and 3 votes for Prison Break. We are just about to start the 6th season of 24 and once we finish that we'll either watch Prison Break (cause we bought it and haven't watched it yet) or the Office. I like having a show that's only half an hour to watch when you don't want to spend an hour on the show. We'll see what we end up watching.

P.S. If you have any good poll questions let us know.

Quattro's Aunt & Uncles

Robby is affectionately called Quattro mostly by his Parsons' side cousins, Aunts & Uncles. Here he is at Amy's Utah Open House with Katharine, Andrew, and Spencer. They took him away and played with him most of the night! It was great!

So much snow today!

Wow, it snowed so much today here in Provo! We had fun making crepes this morning with Will & Amanda and some of Rob's family who are still in town from Amy's reception. Baby Robby slept through all the excitement but I saved him a few bites of crepes!

We thought it'd be fun to go sledding but we have no sleds and didn't want to go drive in all the snow so we just took Robby outside and played in the quad behind our apartment for a little bit. He seemed a little unsure about the experience but happy overall!

First time skiing this year

It took me longer than normal, but on Friday and Saturday I got out and went skiing at Park City with my brothers, Daniel and Andrew. On Saturday Will Egan and his wife Amanda also went with us. We had a good time but I prefer skiing at Alta to Park City. I better get into shape before I head to Tahoe in a couple of weeks.
