Christmas

Merry Christmas!

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! And it's weird to think we still have New Year's to celebrate since Rob's at work today... looking forward to another short work week for him!

But seriously, is Christmas really over? My last post was Thanksgiving! Bah! I'm going to do better at blogging - at least I want to do better at recording more funny Robby stories so what better place to do so than my blog?

Christmas Eve

Christmas morning...

Christmas Evening... acting out Nativity with cousins!

if you want to see a million more pictures you can go here.

It was wonderful to have so much family time this Christmas! So fun to have Daddy home from work to play all day! And happy we have cousins near by. We also visited Rob's grandparents and my Gran Christmas Eve and it was a wonderful activity!

I just feel so blessed to have such a wonderful little family! I'm grateful for the gospel and good news of Christ! Merry Christmas!!!

Thanksgiving

We stayed in Utah again for Thanksgiving and some of Rob's family came out from MD.

We dressed up again which was really fun!

Indians again....

Kate was the cutest pilgrim! Too bad she went down for nap before the group shots - she seriously was the cutest!

All the pilgrims...

Indians and Pilgrims peacefully together! :)

The kids made "grateful turkeys - I mentioned Robby's earlier...
So fun to see what the kids came up with!

Annie & Quattro at their own kid table...

The group....

One of the food tables.... we made so much of everything because we wanted lots and lots of leftovers! MaryAnn made her rolls which were awesome, homemade stuffing, sweet potato casserole that might as well have been dessert....

Mmm.... makes me hungry just thinking about it all.

Looking forward to making a big Christmas dinner!!!

So. Much. To blog about...

Time has just been flying by... and I haven't blogged for so long... so here's a big catch up post...

Robby got potty trained.... just one day we decided to put on a pull up... and then we just put on underwear.... he still wears a diaper for sleeping since he apparently still pees in his sleep. But if he's in bed for a nap or just woke up (and has a diaper on) but needs to go he just yells and yells, "MOM! I NEED TO GO POTTY!" Till I come in the room. So no real method, kind of cold turkey. One thing is we started putting him on the potty from a really young age so he's always been used to it and went through phases of going on it more or less...

Thank you Lindsay for multiplying our undies supply! Now our day starts with five minutes of picking out which one we want to wear that day.... so fun! (can you tell he loves it?)

And I just LOVE cute little underwear bums! So fun!

Then.... NEW MOON!!!!!!!!!!

We rented out a theater for a midnight showing and it was such an awesome event! We watched Twilight before at my house....

while putting together goodies bags for everyone...

After the show - showing off our awesome shirts we got made for the event!

A little funny Robby story about our shirts... so it's "La Push Cliff Diving Team" and a pic of a girl diving...

Robby: Who's that?
Me: Bella.
Robby: She's jumping.... What's she doing?
Me: um.... Jumping off a cliff? Into water...
Robby: No. Her not dumping into wader, her saying "help me!"

Ahhh.... he's hilarious...

This is just so Robby lately.... he kept asking every Sunday to wear a tie like daddy so I finally got him one and he was SO excited! And I got him this belt at Savers and he LOVES it. Now when he's all dressed up and ready for church he says, "Mom! I look like a prophet!" Hmm...

Playing with the Carter kids a lot lately.... Liv and I have been trading solidly once a week watching the kiddos so we can get errands done especially with the holidays coming up and it has been so nice!

Getting set up for Christmas....

I know this tree is so lame. :( Rob's had this little fake tree since his mission and we've used it every year! I wanted to get a bigger/real one this year but really we don't have much space for one anyway so maybe next year.... we had fun decorating it though!

Robby said, "I'm going to put Robby on," as he placed the ornament with his face on it on the tree. :) So cute.

APX Sub for Santa

We spent two long evenings involved with APX's Sub for Santa program which was really fun! We shopped for gifts for families and then helped deliver them. It was a great experience!

Sesame Street Live w/Aunt Lindsay

Robby was sooooo excited to go see Elmo! He hasn't watched much Sesame Street but of course knows who Elmo is! And we even got to go out to eat first. He was very well behaved, even extra quiet I'd say, just excited to be on such a fun outing!

We had front row seats! It was awesome!

He got to give high fives to Elmo & Abbie CaDabbie (who I'd never heard of but was really cute). He was kind of nervous of the big characters but ended up totally loving it! Thanks Lindsay!

And now I'll attempt one more post about Thanksgiving....

grateful for...

Yesterday we had all the kids make grateful turkeys and I helped To Robby write what he was grateful for on the feathers... it was so cute! he came up with them all by himself. He said:

my family, nursery, BYU, more family, and mom and dad.
So sweet! I'm so grateful for my family too! And my wonderful friends. And good food!

Happy Birthday Rob!

Really late but Happy Birthday Rob!!! :) I knew it would be a really busy week for me so I was feeling bad that I wasn't going to do a big bday sha-bang so I was thrilled when Rob's people at work invited Robby and I to come to a surprise bday party for Rob!

Surprise! He had NO idea!!!

They really knew what kind of cake Rob would want, huh?? It was pretty tasty!

Ordered some yummy food....

Robby loves playing at daddy's work!

Yeah for Apx Inventory!

Then the next day, Rob's actual bday, was a little crazy - I had the Primary Program rehearsal in the morning but Rob had big plans for the day anyway! Football, football, and more football.... started the day playing football with guys from the branch, then spent the rest of the day at home watching it.... not super exciting but that was what he wanted to do and I couldn't really handle planning much else so it worked out! He was mostly excited that I finally let him get a shotgun for his birthday/Christmas present so he didn't really care what we did.

Check out my amazing decorations.... yeah right....

I let the kids help me design the cake and put their own personal touches on it...

Robby loved helping daddy blow out his candles...

Oh yeah, the morning of Rob's bday I went in to get Robby out of his crib and said, "remember it's Daddy's birthday?" And then Rob walked in and right away Robby started singing, "Happy Birthday to you.... happy birthday to you...." all by himself! It was so cute!

Happy Birthday dad! We love you!

Random....

So when I was sick a few weeks ago a very nice person (Katie Pendleton) brought me homemade chicken noodle soup. It was delicious. And I was in love with the homemade noodles she'd made! Since then I've been wanting to try to make it and when Liv was sick the other day I thought I knew just the thing that would help!

Using some tips from Katie and a recipe I found online for egg noodles I did this:

I can't find the same one I used but it was like 1 cup flour, 1 egg, use 1/2 egg shell full of milk, pinch of salt.... I trippled that and ended up using a little extra milk to make it the right consistency.... it made a ton of noodles! (like 5 times what is shown here)

Funny Robby story....

Rob was getting Robby ready for church and he put on this cute blue blazer and Robby comes running to me and says, "Mom! I look like a prophet!"

Helping mom make cookies... and wearing underwear.... (more on that coming)

Loving life at the BYU basketball game! We wait till the game is over and all the people have gone and then some and then he can go run on the court. He kept yelling at Cosmo, "Dosmo! Dump on the Y!" (Cosmo! Jump on the Y!) He wanted him to jump on the letters and have the crowd say "B-Y-U!" So that's what he's doing here.

SYTYCD tour

I was lucky enough to be invited to go to the SYTYCD tour on Saturday - thanks LINDSAY! :)

It was AMAZING. So cool to be there. They are even more talented in person. I was crying at nearly every performance - I pretty much cry during every show at least once so these being all my favorite dances it was just so exciting and brought on a lot of tears. I think I have some emotional wires crossed - like I laugh when something is sad and cry when something is happy.... anyways! It was so unbelievable. I loved it. Didn't want it to end.

some clips from some of the dances....

So do you have any favorites for this current season??? There's a lot of people I like.... can't wait for the show to be on tomorrow night!!!
